M49P:WU- UCF Knights vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights
For the first time in Program history the UCF Knights (formerly: Golden Knights; 1979-2007) will face off against a very well known school called Rutgers, whose mascot happens to be the Scarlet Knights. These teams will meet at St. Petersburg tonight in the St.Petersburg Bowl. The game has been sold out with more than half of the tickets going to the UCF fan’s due to it’s close proximity to Orlando. This game will feature the 4th best Rush Defense in the nation (UCF) against a decent Rutgers Defense. That is however the only great points to these teams, their defense. Their offenses are fairly well matched and if I had to give a team an advantage I would have to give it to Rutgers, but very very slight. This game will be feature on ESPN at 8pm EST. As you can see both teams record’s are 8-4. However UCF has a better Conference record of: 6-2. While Rutgers Conference record is 3-4.
This year has been a year of firsts for the UCF Knights. If I had to choose a team that would win this game I believe that UCF has the motivation and the will power to finally pull off the program’s first Bowl Game Win. My prediction will be 21-17 UCF winning by 4 points. It will be a very close game and I personally cannot wait to watch it.
